Position Overview: The Wellness Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) plays a vital role in assisting the Resident Services Director with the comprehensive execution, delivery, and coordination of Resident Care Services within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Resident Services Department staff, including Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s).
- Support the management of the medication program and aid residents in self-administering their medications.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and healthcare providers.
- Notify the Executive Director/Resident Services Director of any significant incidents or changes in resident needs.
- Assist in the development of resident assessments and service plans.
- Help with clinical assessments and recertifications as required by ALSA.
- Support the Resident Services Director in recruitment and performance management within the department.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new staff members.
- Engage in scheduled in-service training sessions and team meetings.
- Assist with the scheduling and staffing of Resident Services Assistants as necessary.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to staff in the Resident Services Department as needed.
- Support residents and their families to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Supervise RSA staff during care delivery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Adhere to emergency protocols.
- Understand and implement safety practices and procedures.
Communication Skills:
- Effectively communicate with supervisors and colleagues.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, peers, and other staff members.
- Promote a supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the relevant state(s).
- Certification in basic first aid and CPR.
- Two years of full-time or equivalent clinical experience.
- Preferred experience in assisted living or long-term care settings.
