The main function of this role is to provide consistent, high-quality perioperative/postoperative care for all surgery patients,
\nThe APP will be expected to function as an active member of the surgery patient care team,
\nResponsibilities include surgical first assisting, perioperative/postoperative management,
\nThe APP will be expected to work to the full extent of their licensure with an emphasis on supervised autonomy,

Current PA Certification
\nCurrent NJ state license
\nCDS
\nDEA
\nCurrent BLS/ACLS
\n\n
Required (Physician Assistant):

\nPreferred:

Acute care certification,
\n\n
3-5 years of acute care hospital experience
\nScheduling Requirements:
\n\n
3x12 hour night shifts
\nOn call rotation
\n\n
Essential Functions:
\n\n
Communication of complicated surgical emergencies and appropriate preparation for surgery will also be expected,
\n\n
This can include wound dressing changes,
\n\n
Thoroughly explains procedures to patients
\nPerform appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing
\nDemonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates time management
\nPerforms duties independently and coordinates care with the bedside nurse, attending physician, and other consulting providers,
\n\n
Compassionately interacts with patients across different areas of care
\n
