Job Overview:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an independent health care provider who coordinates care through collaboration with the surgeon,

\n

The PA provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee,

\n

\n

\n

The main function of this role is to provide consistent, high-quality perioperative/postoperative care for all surgery patients,

\n

The APP will be expected to function as an active member of the surgery patient care team,

\n

Responsibilities include surgical first assisting, perioperative/postoperative management,

\n

The APP will be expected to work to the full extent of their licensure with an emphasis on supervised autonomy,

\n

\n

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Current PA Certification

\n

Current NJ state license

\n

CDS

\n

DEA

\n

Current BLS/ACLS

\n

\n

Required (Physician Assistant):

\n

\n

\n

Current Physician Assistant Certification

\n

CDS

\n

DEA

\n

Current BLS/ACLS

\n

Preferred:

\n

\n

Acute care certification,

\n

\n

3-5 years of acute care hospital experience

\n

Scheduling Requirements:

\n

\n

3x12 hour night shifts

\n

On call rotation

\n

\n

Essential Functions:

\n

\n

Communication of complicated surgical emergencies and appropriate preparation for surgery will also be expected,

\n

\n

This can include wound dressing changes,

\n

\n

Thoroughly explains procedures to patients

\n

Perform appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing

\n

Demonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates time management

\n

Performs duties independently and coordinates care with the bedside nurse, attending physician, and other consulting providers,

\n

\n

Compassionately interacts with patients across different areas of care

\n
