Position OverviewWe are in search of a Family Medicine physician to serve the Southern Bronx community, dividing time between Westchester Avenue and Southern Boulevard. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled and comfortable in providing care for both pediatric and adult outpatients, including conducting well-child visits.
The Ideal Candidate- Possesses a minimum of two to three years of clinical experience in an outpatient environment.
- Demonstrates the ability to diagnose and manage a diverse range of chronic conditions, aiming to enhance patient outcomes.
- Exhibits competency in diagnosis and treatment to uphold high standards of patient care and safety.
- Adopts a patient-centered approach to ensure a positive experience for all patients.
- Has excellent communication skills.
- Shows interest in Population Health Management.
- Review patient histories and conduct physical examinations. Assess, diagnose, and provide appropriate treatment and care, referring patients to specialists when necessary.
- Utilize quality clinical diagnostic skills in patient care delivery. Analyze all test results and recommend suitable management strategies, including preventive health advice.
- Prescribe medications and develop ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
- Deliver relationship-centered care, taking into account the psychosocial and physical needs of patients.
- Gather and document patient information, including medical histories, reports, and examination results. Ensure medical records are complete and accurate.
- Communicate effectively with the clinical team to guarantee comprehensive quality care.
- Engage in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or an equivalent foreign degree.
- Completion of a three-year postgraduate medical training program from a U.S. accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Experience in outpatient care is preferred.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice in New York State.
- Must have an active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for it.
- Must have active Medicare/Medicaid enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
- BLS or ACLS certification is required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office is necessary.
