Position Overview
Our organization is in search of a Program Director (PD) for the Family Medicine Residency. This role entails comprehensive leadership, administration, and strategic oversight of the residency program, working closely with the chair of Family Medicine. The PD will ensure adherence to accreditation standards (such as ACGME), cultivate a high-quality educational atmosphere, and promote the professional growth and well-being of both residents and faculty.
Program Leadership & Administration- Provide innovative leadership for the Family Medicine Residency Program.
- Oversee daily operations, strategic initiatives, and program expansion.
- Ensure compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and other regulatory entities.
- Maintain program accreditation, including preparation for site evaluations and annual reports.
- Develop and execute program policies, procedures, and curriculum.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance the residency curriculum to fulfill competencies in:
- Patient care
- Medical knowledge
- Practice-based learning
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Professionalism
- Systems-based practice
- Monitor resident performance through evaluations, feedback, and milestone tracking.
- Facilitate research and scholarly activities for residents and faculty.
- Encourage evidence-based practices and a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Recruit, mentor, and assess residency faculty.
- Promote faculty development in teaching, assessment, and leadership skills.
- Ensure appropriate supervision of residents in all clinical environments.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive educational atmosphere.
- Lead recruitment activities, including application evaluations, interviews, and ranking processes.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the residency program.
- Support resident wellness, engagement, and professional growth.
- Address resident performance challenges with timely interventions and remediation strategies.
- Maintain an active clinical practice to exemplify high-quality patient care.
- Ensure the integration of clinical training experiences across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
- Collaborate with hospital and clinic leadership to optimize training locations.
- Lead program evaluation committees and initiatives for continuous quality improvement.
- Monitor outcomes such as board pass rates, graduate placements, and resident satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, risk management, and patient safety standards.
- Work closely with Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership and institutional officials.
- Effectively manage the program budget and resources.
- Collaborate with other residency programs, departments, and community partners.
- MD or DO with a valid, unrestricted medical license in Ohio.
- Board-certified in Family Medicine.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience post-residency.
- Ability to meet credentialing and privileging requirements of our organization.
