RMD/Chrome Pipe Welder

Position SummaryPlan, lay-out, weld, install, test and repair all types of pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standardsExperience LevelSkilledPrimary Responsibilities and Duties• Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work
\n • Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations
\n • Position the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds involving a high degree of precision independently
\n • Lay-out, and assemble pipes accurately and according to production standards, quality requirements, safety requirements, code, design, and specifications
\n • Make welding repairs and substandard welds
\n • Assist with coordination of any Pre-Fabrication layout or installation
\n • Assist with rigging of material
\n • Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools and equipment
\n • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
\n • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.Qualifications• Experience as a RMD/Chrome Pipe Welder Journeyman in a Power Plant / Industrial setting
\n • Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
\n • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
\n • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.Requirements• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
\n • Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
\n • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
\n • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
\n • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
\n • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
\n • May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
\n • Must have required tools
\n • May require U.S. Driver License• Must pass weld test with quality
\n • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
