Physician: OB/GYN - Full-Scope
Job Description
This comprehensive OB/GYN role presents an exciting opportunity that combines outpatient care, gynecologic surgery, and inpatient duties, specifically providing support for our maternity unit. Physicians in this position will engage in scheduled shifts and offer backup coverage for labor and delivery, obstetric triage, and urgent gynecological care. This role is essential in delivering holistic women's health services throughout the medical facility and ensuring seamless care for patients across the health system.
The responsibilities encompass a full range of obstetric care, management of both routine and complex gynecological cases, and surgical procedures in both the Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center. Our maternity unit benefits from 24/7 in-house anesthesia and CRNA support, a significant advantage not commonly found in many community hospitals. Additionally, GYN Oncology services are accessible through our collaboration with a leading medical institution.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive prenatal care, conduct well-woman examinations, provide contraceptive and preconception counseling, and manage high-risk pregnancies with support from Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists as necessary.
Administer gynecological services, including annual check-ups, assessment and treatment of menstrual and menopausal issues, contraceptive management, and minor procedures in-office.
Oversee full coverage for the maternity unit, managing laboring patients and addressing urgent obstetric and gynecological situations.
Conduct gynecological surgeries in both the Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Collaborate with nurses, midwives, medical students, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Engage in labor and delivery protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing efforts to uphold high standards of patient-centered care.
Operate within a system that provides 24/7 midwifery coverage in the maternity unit.
Qualifications
Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Familiarity with EPIC EMR is preferred.
Open to recent graduates or those new to the field.
Demonstrated clinical expertise and a commitment to evidence-based practices.
Strong communication skills and the ability to excel in a dynamic clinical setting.
