\nLegacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland is known for its specialty programs and clinical excellence. Responsibilities: \nIMAGING
\nProvides quality images with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment.
\nCompetency in the field of MRI.
\nPositions patient for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.
\nOperates imaging equipment, determines and sets exposure factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat rates.
\nUses computer image processing to select and optimize images.
\nProcesses and presents images and related patient information to radiologist for diagnosis.
\nAssists with patient transport by moving patients using standard procedures.
\nDOCUMENTATION
\nGathers complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to customers.
\nIdentifies patient by checking patient's I.D., full name and medical record number according to department procedure.
\nReviews patient chart and orders to insure correct examination.
\nLabels images completely with demographic, position and other needed documentation.
\nLogs activities, gathers charging information and charges exams as required.
\nFollows department and hospital procedures and policies.
\nPerforms quality control and quality assurance, records results and reports variance from normal equipment function.
\nPerforms medication reconciliation on outpatients receiving IV contrast media.
\nPERSONAL & PATIENT CARE AND SAFETY
\nProvides for personal and patient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with written standards so there is no injury to self or others.
\nProtects patients and others in the area by using proper machine settings and magnetic field safety standards.
\nPractices universal and blood and body fluid precautions, and sterile practices according to procedures.
\nCommunicates and uses knowledge of related anatomy and physiology to insure appropriate and effective care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
\nMaintains awareness of patient status and takes appropriate actions to meet their needs.
\nPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR

\nInforms and educates patient and/or family of all needed information concerning the exam performed.

\nTakes personal initiative to maintain current in education (journals, books, in-services seminars, etc.) in all specialty areas assigned.
\nParticipates in presenting professional information to colleagues.
Qualifications: \nEducation:
\nGraduate of certified Radiologic Technology school or program or graduate of a certified Allied Health Imaging program.
\nExperience:
\nOne year previous experience in the field of MRI preferred. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Licensure: \nLicensure/Certification:
\nARRT certification in Radiography, or ARRT certification in MRI required.
\nIf not MRI-certified at time of hire, ARRT certification in MRI, or ARMRIT certification in MRI required within six months.
\nCurrent state license in Magnetic Resonance Imaging required for all employees who perform this job in the state of Oregon.
\nAmerican Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification: Personnel providing direct care in patient care and diagnostic areas are required to acquire and maintain BLS/CPR certification.
