Position Overview:
This role involves leading and coordinating unit staffing while ensuring the achievement of clinical goals and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee, guide, educate, and evaluate nursing and support personnel during assigned shifts, contributing to performance assessments.
- Evaluate daily patient care requirements and assign care tasks, ensuring appropriate care is provided to the patient population.
- Work collaboratively with advanced practice providers to guarantee optimal patient outcomes.
- Assess the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues impacting desired outcomes.
- Address patient care complaints and manage them through established protocols.
- May assist in hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:Education:- Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly use speech for effective oral communication.
- Consistently stand and walk.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly sit, reach, and perform data entry tasks.
- Frequently utilize vision for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
- Regularly use smell to identify and recognize odors.
- Frequently rely on hearing to receive verbal communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
- Occasionally lift or move objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasionally assist in lifting or moving patients.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and perform repetitive movements with hands and legs.
- Occasionally drive.
- Rarely crawl or run.
