Opportunity Details:
Northwest Children's Hospital in Amarillo is assisting our contracted neonatal intensivist group in recruiting a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for their practice in our the Level III NICU. The team consists of a close-knit group of NNPs and Neonatologists supported by a dedicated staff of RNs, RTs, occupational and physicial therapists, social workers, and breastfeeding specialists, each trained specifically to work with infants in the NICU.
\n\nPosition Details:
\n- \n
- Position is with Pediatrix, the contracted NICU group \n
- 35-bed Level III NICU \n
- Average daily census of 23-25 \n
- NNP coverage model: 24-hour shifts plus second NNP on day shift \n
- Work schedule: average of seven 24-hour shifts a month \n
- NNP may attend high-risk deliveries as assigned \n
- Procedures including intubation, insertion of UVC, UAC, and PICC lines \n
- Pediatric Hospitalist sees newborns \n
- Peds subspecialties in-house: Cardiology, Nephrology, Peds Surgery, Endocrinology \n

Position Requirements:
\n- \n
- NNP experience preferred \n
- New NP grads considered if 3+ years NICU nursing experience \n
- Graduate of an approved, accredited nursing program \n
- Current Texas APRN license with certification as Neonatal NP, or ability to obtain one \n
- Board Certification \n

Northwest Children's has been a pioneer in Neonatal intensive care since 1974 and has the largest NICU in the region, a 35-bed Level III NICU.
