As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Med Surg, your insights and contributions to patient care are highly valued and encouraged at every level. Whether through collaborative relationships with your direct supervisor or more structured roles in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives, you will play a key role in shaping decisions that enhance patient outcomes and the nursing profession.

Job Overview and Qualifications

In the role of a Registered Nurse, you will be tasked with providing exceptional, patient-focused care that aligns with departmental requirements and the standards of practice for your specialty and state. Working alongside medical professionals and the care team, you will deliver tailored, comprehensive, and compassionate care, adhering to established nursing frameworks such as ‘Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.’ Additionally, you will serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure a superior patient experience and positive clinical results.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating the patient’s condition upon admission and during each scheduled shift, swiftly identifying and reporting any changes in their status.
  • Executing procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of care in the patient’s medical records.
  • Administering prescribed medications, observing the patient for therapeutic responses, and taking appropriate actions in case of any adverse reactions.
  • Delivering outstanding care by promptly addressing patient requests, proactively anticipating their needs, and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Educating patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up actions, ensuring clarity by simplifying complex medical terms.
Required Qualifications:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Completion of a Registered Nurse Diploma program.
  • No travel is required for this position.
