Job Description
Our organization is currently seeking applications for a Board Certified/Board Eligible gynecologic oncologist to take on the role of Director of Gynecologic Oncology within the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. This position presents a unique chance to lead a well-established program with a robust referral network and to contribute to the ongoing development of comprehensive cancer services. We are dedicated to expanding our cancer programs and fostering academic partnerships.
We maintain a formal partnership with a leading cancer center, which allows us to offer virtual second opinions, access to cutting-edge clinical trials, and adherence to the latest evidence-based practices in cancer treatment. Our facility is also a significant teaching affiliate of a prestigious medical college, hosting independent residency programs in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and General Surgery.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will join a program that has historically relied on contracted rotating gynecologic oncologists and will transition to a full-time, institutionally supported gynecologic oncology service. We anticipate recruiting an additional gynecologic oncologist in line with the launch of our new Cancer Center in 2028. On-site medical oncologists will provide chemotherapy services, and our organization utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional clinical care in gynecologic oncology (approximately 90% clinical focus)
Engage in administrative leadership for the program (approximately 10% focus)
Educate and mentor OB/GYN residents and medical students
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate with colleagues in medical, surgical, and radiation oncology
Involve in clinical research and facilitate access to clinical trials
Conduct surgeries in advanced operating rooms, including access to three robotic surgical systems
Share a light call schedule (1 week in 4) with urogynecologists
