Full-Time Nocturnist Gastroenterology Hospitalist

Location: Arlington, VA (DC Metro / DMV Area)

Our organization is in search of a Board-Certified Gastroenterology Hospitalist to enhance our expanding, patient-focused program at our primary hospital facility in Arlington, Virginia, a prominent medical center in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This role is perfect for Gastroenterologists looking for a dedicated overnight inpatient position, delivering high-acuity GI care while enjoying a well-balanced schedule.

Schedule
  • 7-on / 7-off block schedule.
  • Weekday hours: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM (on-call, available for urgent procedures or in-house consultations).
  • Weekend hours: 5:00 PM Friday - 7:00 AM Monday (on-call, managing inpatient consultations and procedures).
Position Responsibilities
  • Deliver overnight inpatient gastroenterology services.
  • Manage acute GI conditions and other urgent/emergent cases.
  • Work closely with Emergency Medicine, ICU, and Hospitalist teams.
  • Ensure timely documentation and structured handoffs to daytime GI physicians.
  • Engage in quality improvement, compliance, and risk management initiatives.
  • Support our mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical institution.
  • Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Preferred experience in inpatient GI and endoscopy (new graduates with strong training are encouraged to apply).
  • Eligible for or licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Range: $250,000.00 - $552,240.00 annually
