Saint Agnes Medical Providers (SAMP) is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner (NP) with RNFA certification and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a dynamic Sports Orthopedic Surgery team in Fresno, California. This position supports a busy, growing orthopedic practice and works in close collaboration with a Sports Orthopedic Surgeon and multidisciplinary care team.
\nThe APP functions as an integral part of the care team, providing comprehensive patient care across surgical, inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings, with a strong emphasis on perioperative management and surgical first assist responsibilities.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Serve as Surgical First Assist during orthopedic procedures, following best practices and maintaining surgical safety standards. \n
- Provide perioperative patient care, including pre-operative evaluations, intraoperative assistance, and post-operative management. \n
- Conduct inpatient rounds and outpatient follow-ups to ensure continuity of care and optimal recovery outcomes. \n
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and assist in treatment planning. \n
- Coordinate and manage the care of assigned patients, including directing ancillary clinical staff as appropriate. \n
- Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. \n
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, surgical procedures, rehabilitation plans, and recovery expectations. \n
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. \n
- Participate in shared general orthopedic call responsibilities as part of the care team. \n

Minimum Qualifications
\n- \n
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program \n
- NP candidates must hold RNFA certification \n
- Current and unrestricted California NP or PA license \n
- DEA registration and Controlled Substance certification \n
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred \n
- Current national certification (AANP/ANCC for NP or NCCPA for PA) \n
- Minimum of 3 years of surgical/perioperative first assist experience preferred \n
- Experience in orthopedic or sports medicine surgery strongly preferred \n
- Ability to obtain hospital privileges at Saint Agnes Medical Center \n
