\nA Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
\n- \n
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs \n
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions \n
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient \n
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record \n
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient \n
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments \n
Provides direct patient care on the Medical-Surgical unit using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Communicates effectively with the care team and the patient/family to support safe, high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
\nEssential Functions
\n- \n
- Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. \n
- Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner. \n
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. \n
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation). \n
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support). \n
- Assesses learning needs and delivers age/culture-appropriate patient/family education. \n
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. \n
- Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education. \n
- Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may take on-call assignments. \n
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance. \n
- Performs other duties as assigned. \n
- Pre and Post operative care of patients \n

\nPatient Populations Served: Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present. Physical Requirements (typical): Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional sitting, squatting, and kneeling; rare running or climbing. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards including blood/body fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

\nWhat we are looking for
\nApplicants should have a current state RN license.
\nBachelors degree preferred but not required
\nAdditional requirements include:
\n· Basic Life Support certification is required
\n· ACLS and PALS are required
\n· Handle with Care preferred
