Dietitian - Pulmonology Cystic Fibrosis Program

Major duties include but not limited to:

\n
    \n
  • Provide dietary assessments and counseling for pulmonology and sleep medicine patients and Cystic Fibrosis patients seen in clinic setting
  • \n
  • Serve as consultants/resources for inpatient dietitians for CF patients admitted to the hospital.
  • \n
  • Design individualized diets for home and inpatient use and collaborate with family members and community representatives to encourage adherence to medically necessary diets.
  • \n
  • Collaborate and communicate with other members of the team, including doctors, nurses, social workers, and other staff.
  • \n
  • Assist in system-wide changes to pharmacy/nutrition policies pertinent to patient populations as needed.
  • \n
  • Assist in obtaining necessary insurance authorizations.
  • \n
  • Conduct and participate in clinical and educational activities.
  • \n
  • Obtain and maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, and paneling.
  • \n

\n Salary Range: $46.82- $61.76/hourly \n

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, and have completed an ACEND-accredited supervised practice dietetic internship program or Individualized Supervised Pathway
  • \n
  • Two or more years of experience in conjunction with a BS degree in nutrition related field.
  • \n
  • Dietitian License from the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • \n
  • Ability to assess patient calorie, protein and micronutrient needs based on Standards of Nutrition Practice and the Guidelines for Nutrition Care.
  • \n
  • Ability to travel to annual Cystic Fibrosis Conference in the fall (four days).
  • \n
  • Ability to evaluate appropriateness of current nutrition regimen and make appropriate recommendations.
  • \n
  • Ability to apply principles of medical nutrition therapy, food service and sanitation.
  • \n
  • Ability to adapt procedures for patient education level, cultural practice, psycho-social and economic status.
  • \n
  • Work with and educate allied team members to develop plan of care for patients.
  • \n
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • \n
\n

Preferred

\n
    \n
  • Knowledge or fluency in Spanish.
  • \n
  • CCS paneled or panel eligible
  • \n
  • Experience with Cystic Fibrosis.
  • \n
  • Experience in research and quality improvement.
  • \n
