Job Description
We are also known as the Progressive Care Unit or PCU. Our unit is an intermediate unit that is a step down from our intensive care but a step above med/surg as far as patient acuity
\n\nCardiac, Respiratory distress, Septic.
\nNo vents. - Mainly serve cardiac patients, also acute respiratory (no vents/but high flow ) 02 needs/new bipap, etc. then mix of any other disease process in which the physicians determine patient is too sick for floor; but not yet ICU level of care.
\n\nFast paced unit combining aspects of ED and ICU into one department--busyness of ED & critical care aspect of ICU.
\nRequires and builds strong assessment skills and teamwork
\n\nQualifications:
\nEducation: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
\nLicensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
\nCertifications:
\n- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
