Family Medicine Faculty PositionAcademic Core Faculty

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

We are excited to announce an opening for a full-spectrum core faculty role within our established 8-8-8 Family Medicine Residency Program in Phoenix, Arizona. This position encompasses both inpatient and outpatient medicine, where you will supervise residents and students as the attending physician in both hospital and outpatient settings. You will report directly to the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program.

The ideal candidate will align with our mission of community service and support the academic goals of the Residency Program and our institution. We seek physicians who are deeply committed to graduate medical education, with a passion for teaching and mentoring residents and medical students across all facets of Family Medicine. This role also offers the chance to educate medical students and contribute to the advancement of Family Medicine at our School of Medicine's Phoenix campus. Responsibilities will include direct patient care, teaching residents and medical students, precepting, curriculum development, and engaging in administrative and scholarly activities in accordance with ACGME standards. Participation in night and weekend call services is required, with proctoring opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Duties:
    • Deliver lectures as assigned for the didactic education of residents and medical students.
    • Evaluate the performance of Creighton students during their Family Medicine clinical rotations and assign grades accordingly.
    • Engage in scholarly activities.
    • Serve on committees as assigned by Creighton/DMG.
    • Mentor students aiming to match into Family Medicine residency and provide letters of recommendation as necessary.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Clinical Duties:
    • Provide direct patient care at the Family Medicine Residency Clinic located at South Central clinic (FQHC) and on the inpatient service at Valleywise Health Medical Center.
    • Supervise residents and students in both the family medicine clinic and inpatient service.
    • Participate in scheduled staff meetings, committees, quality improvement initiatives, and peer reviews as needed.
    • Uphold professional and ethical standards of conduct.
    • Maintain current professional certification and licensure.
    • Promote professionalism by modeling and encouraging appropriate behaviors in educational settings.
Qualifications

This position requires either a D.O. or M.D. degree. At the time of hiring, candidates must possess a current unrestricted license to practice in Arizona, a valid DEA license for schedule 2-5 drug classes, and be eligible for medical liability coverage. Board eligibility or certification in Family Medicine is required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching Family Medicine and a patient-centered approach to healthcare. Successful applicants will exhibit a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to work within multidisciplinary teams, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Our FQHCs qualify for both Federal and State HPSA Loan Repayment Programs and have a system score of 21.
