Quick Facts Location: Roanoke, VA Start Date: 05/05/2026 End Date/Duration: Permanent, full-time position Shift: Monday–Friday, flexible scheduling, or as needed for leadership duties Hours/Week: Full-time Employment Type: Permanent, salaried position License/Certs: Board-Certified in Neonatology (MD/DO); active Virginia medical license preferred Experience: Board Certification in Neonatology; leadership experience preferred Pay & Benefits Pay Rate: Competitive salary (discussed at interview; salary expectations optional) Additional Compensation: Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance may be available Benefits Include: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (W-2) Life and disability coverage Healthcare FSA & Dependent Care FSA Health Savings Account (HSA) options 401(k) retirement plan Employee Stock Purchase Program Paid sick time (per law) Licensure, certification, travel reimbursement, and other expenses covered when applicable What You’ll Do Provide expert clinical care within a Level IIIB NICU caring for approximately 625 admissions annually Serve as Practice Medical Director, overseeing clinical operations and team performance Lead initiatives to improve quality, safety, and clinical outcomes Collaborate with hospital leadership and academic partners to expand services Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows Engage in scholarly activities, research projects, and educational programming Utilize advanced neonatal therapies, including high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide Mentor and support interdisciplinary teams including pediatric subspecialists such as maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric surgery What You Need Required: MD or DO with Board Certification in Neonatology Virginia medical license or eligibility to obtain one Leadership experience preferred but not required Excellent communication and team leadership skills Preferred: Experience in academic medicine or program development Familiarity with advanced neonatal therapies Past involvement in quality improvement and research projects About the Assignment Join a leading facility in Roanoke, VA, committed to delivering exceptional neonatal care and fostering academic growth.
