\n Outpatient Physician Office Laboratory | Sarasota, Florida | Day Shift | $28–$40/hr | Full-Time | Permanent Direct Hire

Position Summary
\n We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join an outpatient physician office laboratory in Sarasota, Florida. This day shift role focuses on performing routine diagnostic testing in a fast-paced outpatient clinical setting, supporting timely and accurate patient care for a diverse patient population.

\n

The MT/MLT will perform waived and moderately complex testing, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support efficient laboratory operations within a physician office environment.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

• Perform routine laboratory testing in areas such as chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation.
\n • Conduct CLIA-waived and moderately complex testing in accordance with established protocols.
\n • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and point-of-care testing equipment.
\n • Perform quality control procedures and document results and corrective actions.
\n • Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, processing, and identification.
\n • Review, verify, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
\n • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP (if applicable), OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
\n • Support point-of-care testing (POCT) programs and maintain competency documentation.
\n • Maintain laboratory records and assist with audits and inspections as needed.
\n • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support patient care and workflow efficiency.
\n • Participate in competency assessments, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

\n

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required.
\n • ASCP certification (MT/MLS or MLT) preferred or eligible.
\n • Florida state licensure required or eligible.
\n • Prior experience in outpatient, physician office, or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
\n • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and patient safety focus.

Skills & Competencies

\n

• Ability to work independently in a physician office laboratory environment.
\n • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and quality control standards.
\n • Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and point-of-care testing platforms preferred.
\n • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
\n • Ability to manage time effectively in a high-volume outpatient setting.
