Job Description Summary

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) reports to the site supervisor and the radiology manager. Under general supervision, the MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations for physician interpretation. \n

\nRequirements (Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Registry &/or Certifications):\n
\nGraduated from an accredited school of imaging.\n
\nRegistry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) in MRI.\n
\nMust obtain registry within 1 year of hire.\n
\nMust be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision. \n
\nMust be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. \n
\nMust be familiar with age-specific criteria.\n
\n
\nCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. \n
\nProactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training. \n
\n
\nGraduated from an accredited imaging program.\n
\nRegistry eligible ARRT(MR)\n
\nMust obtain MRI registration within 1 year of hire date.\n
\nBLS\n
\n
\nExperience: 1-2 years\n
\nSkills: General MRI exams, implants, elastography, and defecography. \n
\nRotate to other locations as needed for training/staffing.\n

Job Description

Performs MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols while maintaining image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow. Completes patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in RIS and PACS to support timely physician interpretation\n

Maintains image quality, productivity, and efficient patient workflow.

\n

Adheres to departmental standards and modality-specific protocols.

\n

Provides safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.

\n

Utilizes the SHIELD reporting platform when there is an event that occurs outside a normal encounter.

\n

Adheres to all MRI safety requirements, including zone protocols, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices.

\n

Upholds compliance and organizational standards.

\n

Performs routine equipment quality control checks, assisting with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and placing tickets as needed.

\n

Supports onboarding and training of staff and students.

\n

Facilitates a positive work and learning environment.

\n

Participates in performance improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, and safety.

\n

Participates in staff meetings, lunch and learns, and quality meetings.

\n

Maintains a professional demeanor in attitude, appearance, and communication.

Additional Job Description

\n

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Work Experience: 0-2 years of modality specific experience required. Registration/Certifications: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT MRI registration required within one year. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
