Job Summary\n

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Gastroenterology team in Longview, TX. This role is focused exclusively on inpatient GI coverage, working collaboratively with a gastroenterologist to manage the inpatient GI service. The APP will play a key role in evaluating consults, rounding on patients, and supporting continuity of care in a hospital-based setting.

Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Evaluate and manage initial ER and floor consults for gastroenterology patients
\n
• Perform daily inpatient rounding on GI patients
\n
• Collaborate closely with the gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive inpatient GI coverage
\n
• Assess and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
\n
• Order, interpret, and manage labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
\n
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams
\n
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
\n

Qualifications\n

\n
• Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
\n
• National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
\n
• Previous inpatient, gastroenterology, hospital medicine, or internal medicine experience preferred
\n
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a hospital-based setting
\n
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
\n

Schedule & Compensation\n

• Inpatient only
\n
• 7 on / 7 off schedule (ThursdayWednesday)
\n
• 7:00 AM 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
\n
