\n\nJob Overview-
\nThe Nurse Practitioner is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physician. The NP provides primary health care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients. In addition, the NP is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e.damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.

Qualifications:
\nRequired:
\n3 years of Neurology experience Required A Masters degree in Nursing is required.
\nRegistered Professional Nurse with a current NJ state license; CDS and DEA.
\nCPR certification.
\nNP Certification.
\nThree to five years of work experience as a professional nurse.
\nCandidates will be required to work at our Brick, NJ location 1-2 a week.

\nEssential Functions:
\n\n
Administers injections, immunizations and oral medications, starts IV.
\nAssists physician by recording patient progress notes, issues diagnostic orders, and transcribing orders.
\nAssists with various counseling and education functions.
\nBilling for patient services is based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations.
\nDemonstrates satisfactory knowledge and judgment to provide appropriate care for patients.
\nDevelops plan of care for patients in coordination with a multidisciplinary team and completes appropriate reports to physicians and family.
\nDocuments and maintains patient records of services provided according to facility and nursing standards.
\nEstablishes a collaborative relationship with other medical providers.
\nExamines patients to determine presence of illness, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, medical history, ascertains nature and extent of illness and prescribes treatments as indicated.
\nInterviews, instructs and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
\nIssues prescriptions to patients based on Federal & State Regulations.
\nOrders and reviews appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Review all lab data and documents.
\nParticipates in the development of protocols.
\nPerforms and obtains a completed medical history and physical data on patients with appropriate documentation and findings.
\nPerforms independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
\nProvides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
\nResponsible for coordinating nursing and training programs on compliance with policies such as HIPAA, OSHA, Code of Conduct.
\nResponsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice.
\nReviews and audits charts routinely.
\nSuture wounds, incise and drain wounds, repair lacerations.
\nWorks in collaboration with a physician to diagnose conditions as necessary.
