Key Responsibilities

Main Duties:

• Act as the primary care physician for both adolescent and adult patients.
• Order a comprehensive range of radiology and laboratory tests, diagnose conditions, and prescribe suitable treatments.
• Provide teaching and consultation to other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Complete all necessary documentation related to medical services in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
• Oversee operations as the medical director of the troop medical clinic, immunization team, and soldier processing center.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

To qualify, candidates must fulfill the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Experience includes both paid and unpaid roles, such as volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be considered. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for Physician (Family Practice)

Degree: Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. For degrees obtained from foreign medical schools, candidates must demonstrate equivalency through permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.

Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.

Graduate Training: Following the attainment of a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, which can be fulfilled through a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.

Residency Training: Candidates must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in Family Medicine, along with equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the residency training required for this specialty.
