Geriatrician

Job Opportunity: Board Certified/Eligible Geriatrician

Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Certified or Eligible Geriatrician to deliver inpatient consultative care to older adults at our facility in Portland, Maine. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit, collaborative team consisting of three seasoned physicians and two Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) dedicated to providing Age-Friendly 4Ms care within the state's largest Level 1 trauma center.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Geriatric consultations five days a week, focusing on complex care coordination and effective medical management for hospitalized older adults.
• Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows through bedside interactions and formal educational sessions.
• Collaborate with various specialties and disciplines to enhance Age-Friendly Care throughout the healthcare system.
• Participate in the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP), a program recognized for over 20 years and awarded the Site of Excellence designation for more than a decade.
• This position does not require participation in overnight call duties.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Eligible in Geriatrics.
• Experience in inpatient care and a passion for working with older adults.
• Strong collaborative skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Working Conditions

This role is primarily focused on inpatient care, but you will be part of a larger Division of Geriatrics that includes 16 physicians and 18 APPs, providing comprehensive care across various settings, including inpatient, facility-based, and outpatient primary care.
