Job Overview and QualificationsThe role involves providing leadership that enhances the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. You will apply the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families. Additionally, you will carry out medically prescribed interventions.
Qualifications Required:
- Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with the expectation of obtaining a BSN within five years of starting in the RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and entities. Extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as necessary. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt from this requirement.
- License: Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing is mandatory. An Enhanced Nurse License Compact (eNLC) license may be applicable; licensees should verify with the NCBON. Registered Nurse licensure must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is necessary.
