Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician SCHEDULE\n
\n- \n
- Regular Full-Time Position \n
- Must be available to work Sunday through Saturday 10:30pm to 7:00am. \n
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays. \n
- Must be flexible with schedule changes to meet operational needs. \n
HIRING RANGE\n
\n- \n
- Medical Technologist (MT): $30.00 to $42.68 hourly (MT II starts at $34.00) \n
- Actual pay commensurate with experience \n
- Eligible for Sign-on Bonus \n
- May be eligible for Relocation Assistance \n
JOB SUMMARY\n
\n- \n
- Performs a wide range of laboratory tests on various patient samples. \n
- Ensures diligent analysis and quality results are available to providers and other healthcare professionals. \n
- Works with a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable medical laboratory professionals. \n
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n
\n- \n
- Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in different areas as assigned. \n
- Performs quality control on test results to ensure validity and accuracy. \n
- Acts as a resource person and performs maintenance on testing systems and instruments. \n
- Performs collections from patients, prepares specimens for transport, and follows all regulatory requirements. \n
- Provides other laboratory support including proficiency testing and training. \n
JOB DEMANDS\n
\nTypical Physical Demands:
\n- \n
- Requires manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and corrected vision and hearing. \n
- Able to distinguish colors and wear PPE. \n
- Able to lift, carry, push or pull items up to thirty-five (35) pounds occasionally. \n
- Able to stand, sit, bend, and key intermittently. \n
Typical Working Conditions:
\n- \n
- Work environment includes conditions common to a hospital/laboratory environment. \n
- Potential for contact with hazardous chemicals or infectious materials. \n
- Generally works in an indoor, air-conditioned area. \n
- May work outdoors depending on position/location. \n
QUALIFICATIONS\n
Education:
\n- \n
- Medical Technologist/Specialist: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. \n
- Medical Laboratory Technician: Associate degree in medical laboratory technology. \n
Experience: MT I: Less than 2 years; MT II: 2 years MT I experience and department checklist.
\nCertification: Certified or licensed as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
\nLicensure: Hawaii State license as a Technologist or Specialist.
