\nThe Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame and to provide care, specifically in the Heart & Vascular Institute. The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study. The Registered Radiologic Technologist will assist the physician in all procedures and provide a valuable service to the patient and the team.\n

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements\n
\n
\nCapacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately. Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others. Manual dexterity to handle small supplies.\n

\nResponsibilities\n
\n
Essential Functions\n
\n
\nAdministers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing vascular access point; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.\n
\n
\nAll functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.\n
\n
\nAssists with inventory/supplies.\n
\n
\nChecks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.\n
\n
\nCompiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.\n
\n
\nAssists in instruction of new staff as necessary.\n
\n
\nDocuments accurately and completely according to established policies and procedures.\n
\n
\nExplains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.\n
\n
\nPerforms all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist.\n
\n
\nPerforms on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.\n
\n
Department Specific Job Function\n
\n
\nAble to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.\n
\n
\nAdministers and with holds contrast and treatment as appropriate. Assess patients for allergies.\n
\n
\nCan pull supplies for procedures.\n
\n
\nTakes call in within 6 months.\n
\n
\nCardiac Cath Lab work including left heart cath, with/without coronary stenting, right heart cath, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access under sterile procedure.\n
\n
\nStructural Heart Procedures to include TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD/PFO and CardioMEMs.\n
\n
\nHybrid Peripheral Vascular work in coordination with vascular surgery to include EVAR, TCAR, and TEVAR.\n
\n
\nAdjunctive tools to complete the above procedures including but not limited to ICUS, FFR/iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO.\n

\nCompensation and Benefits\n
\n
\nThe compensation range for this position is $35.62per hour - $61.27per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
