\nJob Summary
\nUnder the direction of the provider, the APRN/PA is responsible for handling patient appointments and performing routine examinations to ensure patient health. Their duties include speaking with their patients about healthy lifestyle choices for their age, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain updated medical records. This a float position requiring candidates to rotate between locations.
\nEssential Job Functions
\nTreat adults who have illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and general concerns in accordance with standards of care
\nCollect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results adhering to HIPAA regulations
\nPrescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, and disease.
\nExamine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.
\nAdvise patients, and community members concerning diet, activity hygiene, and disease prevention.
\nExplain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
\nMonitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
\nDirect and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
\nPerform in-clinic procedures on patients to remove, repair, or improve functioning of diseased or injured body parts and systems.
\nConduct research to study anatomy and develop or test medications, treatments, or procedures to prevent or control disease or injury.
\nSpend 100% of your time clinically focused on direct patient care, inclusive of patient facing time and general administrative time (charting, meetings, etc.) as it relates to direct patient care.
\nRequired Qualifications:
\nMaster of Science in Nursing (NP or PA) from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
\nBoard Certification from an accredited board
\nActive, unrestricted NP or PA license in State of Florida
\nTwo or more years of adult medicine experience as an NP or PA
\nBLS (AHA or Red Cross)
\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills
\nDemonstrate a high level of skill with interpersonal relationships and communications with colleagues/patients
\nWillingness and ability to learn/adapt to practice in a value-based care setting
\nSuperior patient/customer service
\nPreferred Qualifications:
\nAutonomous APRN license in Florida
\nDEA Certification or able to obtain
\nACLS (AHA or Red Cross)
\nFluent in Spanish (Read, Write, Speak)
\nExperience managing commercial insurance and Medicare Advantage patients
