\nThe CT Technologist performs imaging procedures according to physician's orders, utilizing knowledge and judgment in regard to exposure factors, imaging technique, and patient treatment.

Responsibilities: \nIMAGING: Provides quality images with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment.
\nCompetency in the field of CT.
\nPositions patient for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.
\nOperates imaging equipment, determines and sets exposure factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat rates.
\nUses computer image processing to select and optimize images.
\nProcesses and presents images and related patient information to radiologist for diagnosis.
\nAssists with patient transport by moving patients using standard procedures.
\nDOCUMENTATION: Gathers complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to customers.
\nIdentifies patient by checking patient's I.D., full name and medical record number according to department procedure.
\nReviews patient chart and orders to insure correct examination.
\nLabels images completely with demographic, position and other needed
\ndocumentation.
\nLogs activities, gathers charging information and charges exams as required.
\nFollows department and hospital procedures and policies.
\nPerforms quality control and quality assurance, records results and reports variance from normal equipment function.
\nPerforms medication reconciliation on patients receiving IV contrast media.
\nPERSONAL & PATIENT CARE AND SAFETY: Provides for personal and patient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with written standards so there is no injury to self or others.
\nProtects patients and others in the area by using proper machine settings and radiation safety standards.
\nPractices universal and blood and body fluid precautions, and sterile practices according to procedures.
\nCommunicates and uses knowledge of related anatomy and physiology to insure appropriate and effective care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
\nMaintains awareness of patient status and takes appropriate actions to meet their needs.
\nStarts IV's using proper technique and administers medications under the direction of the LIP.
\nPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR: Practices professional communications, appearance, conduct, punctuality, attendance and attitude that leads to physician, patient and co-worker respect and confidence.
\nInforms and educates patient and/or family of all needed information concerning the exam performed.
\nUses professional judgment and presents a professional image of competency to customer and staff.
\nMaintains professional appearance, punctuality, flexibility, confidentiality and guest relations.
\nHandles stressful situations in ways that promote positive outcomes.
\nTakes personal initiative to maintain current in education (journals, books, inservices seminars, etc.) in all specialty areas assigned.
\nParticipates in presenting professional information to colleagues.
Qualifications: \nEducation:
\nAs required to obtain ARRT.
\nExperience:
\nOne year previous experience in the field of CT preferred.
\nSkills:
\nKeyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Licensure: \nNational registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology (ARRT-R) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) required. CT certification (ARRT-CT) required within six months of job placement. Current state license in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine required for all employees who perform this job in the state of Oregon. Current Radiologic Technologist Certification required for all employees who perform this job in the state of Washington. AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
