\nThe Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) reports to the site supervisor and the radiology manager. \n
\nUnder general supervision, the MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations for physician interpretation. Other duties as deemed necessary.\n\n

\nResponsibilities
\n\nPerform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols while ensuring image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow.
\nComplete patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in RIS and PACS to support timely physician interpretation.
\nMaintain high standards of image quality, productivity, and patient throughput.
\nDeliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
\nAdhere to all MRI safety protocols, including zone safety procedures, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices.
\nUtilize the SHIELD reporting platform to document and escalate events outside of normal clinical encounters.
\nFollow all departmental policies, modality standards, and organizational compliance requirements.
\nPerform routine equipment quality control checks and assist with troubleshooting and service ticket submission as needed.
\nSupport onboarding, training, and education of staff and students.
\nFoster a positive, collaborative work and learning environment.
\nParticipate in performance improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and patient, employee, and physician satisfaction.
\nAttend staff meetings, in-services, lunch-and-learns, and quality improvement meetings.
\nMaintain a professional demeanor in appearance, communication, and conduct.

\nRequired Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
\nEducation: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
\nExperience/Skills: 1+ years,
\nGeneral MRI exams, implants, elastography, and defecography.
\nRotate to other locations as needed for training/staffing.
\nRequired Registration/Certification:
\nMust be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required.
\nMust be registered with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT), if not registered must be obtained within 1 year in this position.
\nLicensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
\nCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
