Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide leadership and oversight for pharmacy operations in a behavioral health inpatient hospital setting. This contract role requires experience in inpatient behavioral pharmacy and a Missouri pharmacist license in good standing. The position will support the opening of the hospital pharmacy, including setup, medication ordering, and policy development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading pharmacy setup at the new hospital facility, coordinating with nursing staff for medication ordering and stocking
  • Managing Omnicell automated dispensing systems and utilizing HCS or Cerner order entry systems (preferred)
  • Developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures
  • Providing on-call coverage during weekends and daily coverage Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
  • Communicating progress and updates regularly via weekly calls and emails

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Missouri pharmacist license in good standing
  • Proven inpatient behavioral pharmacy experience
  • Familiarity with HCS or Cerner order entry systems and Omnicell automation preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a new facility without pharmacy tech support
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving needs during hospital opening

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm, plus on-call duties
  • Weekend on-call coverage only

This position requires availability to start between April 27th and no later than May 4th, covering pharmacy operations until a permanent pharmacist is hired.
