Bluffview Montessori School, a tuition-free public charter school rooted in the Montessori tradition, is seeking a passionate and reflective Elementary Teacher to join our community for the 20262027 academic year.

Located in Winona, MN, Bluffview serves students from preschool through 8th grade. Our program is grounded in the belief that children learn best through hands-on discovery, meaningful work, and real-world connection culminating in our Erdkinder program, the Montessori model for adolescents, which bridges the Montessori experience with a successful transition into traditional high school settings.

Position Summary

Elementary teachers provide quality instruction rooted in Montessori philosophy and aligned with state and national standards. Using diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies, teachers guide instructional decisions and help students grow into confident, self-directed learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver instruction aligned with Minnesota Academic Standards and Montessori philosophy
  • Use a range of assessments to guide instruction and promote student self-reflection
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages curiosity, respect, and independence
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to integrate content and design interdisciplinary experiences
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Engage actively in professional learning and school community life
Licensure & Certification Requirements
  • Minnesota teaching license in Elementary Education (K6)
  • Current AMI, AMS, or NCME certification, or willingness to obtain one
Education & Experience Preferences
  • MA/MS in Education
  • Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional growth through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development
  • Willingness to acquire Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification
Compensation & Benefits

Starting Annual Salary: $32,473
