Histology Supervisor (NIGHTS)

A privately-owned clinical lab in Birmingham, AL is seeking a full-time, permanent Histology Supervisor for the night shift (Monday-Friday 9:00pm-5:30am). If you’re interested in working for an industry leader to help deliver fast and accurate results, look no further!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Directly supervise and coordinates the histology team, including performing routine duties of histology including embedding, microtome, specials stains and related tasks
\n
• Manage the employee hiring process (interview prospective employees, develop performance expectations, identify essential functions and knowledge, skills and abilities)
\n
• Manage employee performance and new employee orientation process
\n
• Monitor and evaluate lab operations, workflow, and employees
\n
• Properly embed, section, and stain all types of tissue
\n
• Maintain quality control records on all equipment
\n
• Other duties as assigned
\n

REQUIREMENTS

\n
• High school diploma or GED
\n
• Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred
\n
• ASCP (HT) certification preferred
\n
• At least 5 years of Histotech experience
\n
• Some supervisory experience
\n
