Join Our Team as a Rural Track Faculty Physician & Associate Program Director

We are currently looking for a Family Medicine Faculty Physician to take on the role of core faculty and Associate Program Director for our emerging Rural Track Program, based at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital on Virginia's Eastern Shore.

In this pivotal leadership position, you will play a crucial role in designing, launching, and expanding a new rural training pathway aimed at preparing outstanding family physicians for diverse communities. This role combines patient care with mentorship, curriculum development, and program leadership, allowing you to shape the future of rural family medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation and execution of the Rural Track curriculum.
  • Work alongside the Program Director and core faculty to fulfill ACGME requirements and achieve program objectives.
  • Recruit, select, and onboard residents for the Rural Track.
  • Establish community partnerships to enhance rural health education.
  • Supervise residents primarily in outpatient and community settings.
  • Act as a role model for comprehensive family medicine in a rural context.
  • Encourage scholarly activities and support resident projects related to rural health.
Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate:
  • MD or DO; Board Certified in Family Medicine.
  • Eligible for or currently licensed to practice in Virginia; a valid DEA registration is required.
  • Experience in or a strong interest in rural medicine is preferred.
  • Ability to practice full-spectrum family medicine.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Compensation:

The hiring range for this position is between $307,000 and $398,000. Actual pay will be determined based on specialty, experience, and performance.
