Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN), your role will involve providing high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and state and specialty practice standards. You will collaborate with medical professionals and the care team to deliver personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, adhering to established nursing models such as ‘Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.’ Additionally, you will advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying our organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure exceptional patient experiences and positive clinical outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care needs while executing physician orders.
  • Administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Documenting and communicating patient conditions appropriately using computerized systems.
  • Instructing and educating patients and families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.

Qualifications required:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or a compact state is mandatory.
  • An Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or CPR is required.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment.
  • PEARS or PALS certification must also be obtained within six months of starting employment.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience is preferred.

Our facility is a comprehensive center with over 230 beds, serving Davidson, Wilson, and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center and provide a full range of acute care services, including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics/spine, rehabilitation, and women’s services. We are recognized as an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center, making us a leading provider of emergency heart and stroke care.
