As the largest public health provider in Northeast Ohio, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare services.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Family Medicine is a fundamental aspect of our commitment to providing comprehensive, community-oriented care. With a dedicated workforce of 70-75 healthcare professionals, including 55 board-certified physicians and 20 advanced practice providers, we offer high-quality and accessible services across 15-20 clinical locations throughout Cuyahoga County. Additionally, the department is home to a well-respected Family Medicine Residency Program, established in 1974, which has expanded to accommodate nine residents annually (totaling 27). We proudly serve as the primary academic partner of Case Western Reserve University and also support learners from Ohio University and NEOMED.
Ideal Candidate ProfileThe Chair of the Department of Family Medicine will report directly to the System EVP/Chief Clinical Officer. This role requires a strategic, collaborative, and inspiring leader who will enhance clinical care, education, community engagement, and research initiatives. Candidates should possess:
- Progressive leadership experience in an academic or large healthcare environment.
- A proven track record of scholarly contributions or teaching activities.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine.
Our health system operates with a budget of $2.2 billion and is currently experiencing significant clinical growth. We have expanded our services to include five hospitals, four emergency departments, and over 25 inpatient, outpatient, and community health facilities, catering to the diverse populations of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County.
