Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 4x10s
Full-Time | Stable Shop Environment
Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Shop Millwright / Valve Technician to join a growing valve and repair shop team. This role is responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair, testing, and reassembly of industrial valves and mechanical equipment in a controlled shop environment. Occasional local field work may be required on a limited basis.
\nThe ideal candidate will have strong mechanical abilities, experience working with industrial tools and equipment, and a commitment to quality and safety.
\nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble industrial valves including: \n
- \n
- Relief valves \n
- Gate valves \n
- Globe valves \n
- Check valves \n
- Ball valves \n
- Butterfly valves \n
- Control valves \n
\n - Perform valve lapping, gasket replacement, machining preparation, and pressure testing \n
- Inspect valve components for wear, corrosion, and damage using precision measuring tools \n
- Assist with rebuilding pumps, actuators, gearboxes, and other mechanical equipment \n
- Operate shop equipment including grinders, drill presses, hydraulic presses, torque tools, and overhead cranes \n
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications \n
- Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing according to customer and industry standards \n
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and inspection records \n
- Ensure repaired equipment meets quality and safety standards before release \n
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment \n
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging equipment for customer jobs and deliveries \n
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- High school diploma or GED required \n
- Previous experience working with Fisher and Masoneilan brand valves \n
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools \n
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators \n
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications \n
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus \n
- Basic welding or machining experience preferred but not required \n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship \n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team \n
Preferred Experience

- Machine shop or fabrication experience \n
- Power plant, refinery, or manufacturing maintenance support \n
- Knowledge of industrial safety and quality procedures \n
Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly \n
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive mechanical tasks \n
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work with heavy mechanical components \n
- Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment \n
