Brown Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and collaborative Medical Director Veterinarian to lead our AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Peoria, Illinois. This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys surgery, mentoring others, practicing high-quality medicine, and helping grow a well-established hospital. As Medical Director, you'll partner closely with hospital leadership to guide the medical direction of the practice while continuing to practice medicine alongside a collaborative and supportive team. • Provide medical leadership while maintaining an active clinical caseload
\n
• Perform routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries
\n
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians and support staff
\n
• Promote medical excellence and uphold standards of patient care
\n
• Partner with hospital leadership to support hospital growth and strategic initiatives
\n
• Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing culture
\n
• Build lasting relationships with clients and the surrounding community

Qualifications\n

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) from an accredited veterinary school
\n
• Active (or eligible) Illinois veterinary license
\n
• Previous leadership or mentorship experience preferred
\n
• Strong soft tissue surgical skills
\n
• Passion for coaching, collaboration, and team development
\n
• Growth mindset with a desire to help expand the practice

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
