Travel RN - Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) - Hilo, Hawaii

Hilo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) in Hilo, Hawaii. This is a 13-week contract assignment working varied shifts with 36 scheduled hours per week after orientation.

Unit Details:

• 15-bed unit
\n
• 3 Step-Down ICU beds
\n
• 12 Telemetry beds
\n
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:\n
  \n
  • Progressive Care: 1:4
  \n
  • Step-Down ICU: 1:3
  \n
\n

Responsibilities:

\n
• Provide direct patient care in a progressive care setting
\n
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation
\n
• Fingerstick blood sugar monitoring
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
\n
• Float to other acute care units as needed
\n

Equipment and Systems:

\n
• EPIC EMR
\n
• Pyxis medication system
\n
• BIPAP
\n
• Continuous cardiac monitoring
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
\n
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
\n
• Active Hawaii RN License required by assignment start date
\n
• BLS required
\n
• ACLS required
\n
• PALS preferred
\n
• NIHSS preferred
\n

Additional Information:

• Travelers may float to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER units
\n
• No call required
\n
• Holiday coverage required
\n
• Scrubs required
\n
• Candidates must arrive prior to start date for employee health appointment and onboarding
