Mobile Diesel Tech

We are seeking a Mobile/Onsite Mechanic with expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and fleet maintenance to handle on-the-road diagnostics and repairs. This role involves independent work on emergency service calls making sure customers’ equipment is back in action quickly and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

· Respond to service calls in a timely manner to diagnose and repair trailers, trucks, and equipment on-site.

· Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on hydraulic, electrical, brake, and drivetrain systems.

· Utilize a variety of tools and equipment, including basic hand tools, precision instruments, power tools, welding equipment, and jacks, to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

· Keep clients informed of repair progress, service needs, and estimated timelines.

· Communicate with dispatch and clients to provide updates and ensure satisfaction with service.

· Maintain detailed service documentation and ensure all work meets DOT compliance standards.

· Operate within safety and environmental guidelines while providing professional, courteous service to all clients.

· Document work performed, parts used, and observations on Service Orders via the company-issued device.

· Manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck, conducting periodic reconciliations to maintain readiness.

Requirements:

· Experience: Prior experience as a mechanic, preferably with mobile repair, diesel engines, or heavy-duty equipment.

· Skills: Proficient in diagnostic software, troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems, and diesel mechanics.

· License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL a plus.

· Certifications: ASE Certification, EPA Certification, or DOT Compliance Training preferred.

· Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.

· Physical Requirements: Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and environments.
