The Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Mountain Home, TN is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist to provide full-scope anesthesia services in a primarily inpatient surgical setting. This is a long-term opportunity with a broad and complex case mix, supported by a collaborative VA surgical team.

Assignment Overview

Schedule & Call

  • Operating Room Schedule:
    \n Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • \n
\n

Call Requirements

    \n
  • Weeknight Call: 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Mon–Fri)
  • \n
  • Weekend Call: 24-hour coverage (Saturday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM)
  • \n
  • Holiday Call: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (next day)
  • \n
  • Response Expectations:
  • \n
      \n
    • Within 15 minutes by phone
    • \n
    • On-site within 30 minutes if needed
    • \n

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Pre-operative evaluations

  • Administration of anesthesia during procedures

  • Post-anesthesia care and monitoring

  • Emergency airway management

  • Acute and chronic pain management

  • Surgical ICU coverage

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic anesthesia support

Requirements

  • Board Certified – American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
  • \n
  • BLS & ACLS certifications required
  • \n
  • Any active U.S. state license accepted
