Job Summary:

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in adual-role positionthat supports both theOccupational Health/Workman's CompandFracture Liaison Service (FLS)at our Alamogordo, NM location. This advanced practice provider will support bone health and healing post-fracture, support primary/secondary fracture prevention, and deliver occupational health services, including injury care, DOT physicals, and work comp injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

\n
\n

Occupational Health / Urgent Care:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Perform DOT physicals and pre-employment evaluations

  • \n
  • \n

    Treat work-related injuries, including orthopedic-related cases

  • \n
  • \n

    Provide urgent care services including wound care, laceration repair, suturing, splinting, and IV hydration

  • \n
  • \n

    Read initial X-rays and manage minor procedures

  • \n
  • \n

    Accept walk-in patients for occupational health and minor work comp needs

  • \n
\n
\n
\n

Fracture Liaison Service (FLS):

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Manage post-operative hip fracture patients and monitor bone healing

  • \n
  • \n

    Order and interpret labs and DEXA scans

  • \n
  • \n

    Prescribe medications to promote bone density and prevent future fractures

  • \n
  • \n

    Provide ongoing primary and secondary fracture prevention care

  • \n
  • \n

    Coordinate care with orthopedic surgery and primary care as needed

  • \n
\n
\n
\n

Requirements:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of New Mexico, or willing to obtain license

  • \n
  • \n

    Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience inOccupationalandEnvironmental Medicine, Preventative Care,Urgent Care,Primary Care, orEmergency Medicine

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, wound care)

  • \n
  • \n

    Experience in bone health or occupational medicine preferred

  • \n
  • \n

    Certification in Osteoporosis Management and Occupational Health required (can be completed after hire)

  • \n
  • \n

    Independent practice experiencepreferred

  • \n
\n
