JOB SUMMARY
\nThe Certified Medical Assistant with CST is a multi-skilled healthcare professional who works collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to provide high-quality patient care. CMAs and CSTs perform both administrative and clinical duties to support efficient, cost-effective care, optimize patient outcomes, and improve overall quality of life.

RESPONSIBILITIES
\n- \n
- Assist patients by providing information, services, and support. \n
- Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure proper maintenance of medical equipment. \n
- Verify patient information, record medical history, and confirm reason for visit. \n
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, weight, and preliminary tests, report findings to provider. \n
- Support office procedures to save physician time and improve workflow. \n
- Protect patient confidentiality by securing records, completing diagnostic and procedure coding accurately. \n
- Counsel patients by communicating physician orders and instructions regarding procedures or surgeries. \n
- Schedule surgeries by coordinating with surgical centers, confirming patient times, and preparing charts and consent forms. \n
- Maintain a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment in accordance with standards and regulations. \n
- Keep supplies ready by completing inventory, ordering, and verifying receipt of stock. \n
- Ensure proper operation of equipment by following instructions, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and arranging repairs as needed. \n
- Stay current with professional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications. \n
- Adhere to professional standards, clinic policies, and federal, state, and local requirements. \n
- Support practice growth and reputation by taking ownership of new responsibilities and exploring opportunities to improve services. \n
- Perform clinical duties within scope—including tasks designated for CMA, RMA, CST, LPN, or RN roles as applicable—as well as other clinical functions delegated and supervised by the physician. \n
- Clean, sanitize and sterilize surgical instruments \n
- Assist with all in-office procedures. \n

QUALIFICATIONS

- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or Certified Surgical Technician program \n
- Current Medical Assisting Certification with no restrictions or current Certified Surgical Technician Certification \n
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification \n
- Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique, and clinic-based health and safety precautions \n
- Ability to use and apply medical terminology accurately \n
- Understanding of general clinical principles, methodologies, and outcome measures \n
- Strong communication skills with patients and external parties in a courteous and professional manner \n
