As a vital member of the patient care team, you will evaluate, assess, and provide services based on a treatment plan developed by a physician. You will also oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring quality care is delivered. Peer evaluations will be part of your responsibilities.

Job Overview

The responsibilities of the Registered Physical Therapist encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct thorough assessments, which may include OASIS data elements, to determine the patient's physical functioning and need for therapy services.

  • Engage in discussions with the physician, gather input from patients and caregivers, and create a care plan aimed at helping the patient achieve their maximum rehabilitation potential.

  • Implement prescribed treatments and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in executing the therapy program.

  • Develop and instruct patients on a home exercise program (HEP), documenting these instructions in visit notes.

  • Monitor and report any significant changes in the patient's condition to the physician and communicate these updates to other team members involved in the patient's care.

  • Ensure all services are documented appropriately in accordance with agency policies.

  • Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions and situations.

  • Provide the agency with necessary documentation, including a copy of your license/registration, to verify your qualifications.

  • Accept only those assignments for which you are qualified.

  • Adhere to all applicable state, federal, local, and agency regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Keep all patient and agency information confidential.

  • Follow all policies and procedures, including those related to HIPAA compliance.

Utilize Your Skills to Make a Difference

Regulatory Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program recognized by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association.

  • Must be licensed/registered as a Physical Therapist in the State of Texas.

  • At least one year of recent experience as a Physical Therapist.

  • Current licensure in the State of Texas is required.

  • A minimum of one year of experience working under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist.

  • This position is part of a driver safety program, necessitating a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with minimum coverage limits of 100,000/300,000/100,000.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 1

Compensation Range: The salary range provided reflects a good faith estimate of the starting base pay for full-time employment (40 hours per week) at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications, including skills, experience, education, and certifications.

$93,000 - $128,000 per year
