Aptive is seeking a full-time Staff Radiologist to support inpatient and outpatient imaging services at the Beckley VA Medical Center. This role offers a stable weekday schedule, no call, and the opportunity to serve Veterans in a collaborative, mission-driven federal healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Review imaging requests to ensure exam appropriateness and protocol accuracy based on clinical indications and established criteria
  • \n
  • Interpret imaging studies with clinical correlation and generate timely, high-quality diagnostic reports
  • \n
  • Communicate critical and time-sensitive findings promptly
  • \n
  • Oversee image quality, radiation safety, and patient safety, including technologist feedback and dosimetry compliance
  • \n
  • Provide clinical oversight of contrast administration, patient preparation, and infection control practices
  • \n
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, including peer review, MRI safety, and Radiology QA committees
  • \n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, advise providers on exam selection and results, and participate in conferences such as Tumor Board
  • \n
  • Support patient-centered care through documentation, informed consent, coordination of care, and definitive result communication
  • \n
  • Contribute to education, strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement through data analysis, leadership collaboration, and adoption of imaging advancements
  • \n

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Setting: Inpatient and outpatient radiology services
  • \n
  • Hours: MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.

  • Call: None
  • \n
  • Weekends/Holidays: None
  • \n
  • Travel: Not required
  • \n
  • Telemedicine: Not permitted
  • \n
  • Support: Collaborative nursing and administrative staff

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
  • \n
  • Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • \n
  • Federal DEA registration
  • \n
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • \n
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • \n
