Position Overview and QualificationsEP Nurse
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
Utilizing therapeutic communication techniques, the nurse maintains a safe and supportive environment. They identify nursing challenges based on the unique needs of each patient and develop personalized care plans using an interdisciplinary approach. Participation in performance improvement initiatives is also expected, along with providing care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.
In the role of charge nurse, Registered Nurses oversee daily operations to ensure quality patient care in a therapeutic setting. Responsibilities include making staff assignments based on patient needs, acuity, and staff skills. They serve as role models and clinical resources for the team, responding promptly to inquiries or issues raised by physicians, staff, or patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate all aspects of nursing care.
- React appropriately to emergency situations.
- Administer medications and IV conscious sedation under physician supervision.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation in MediTech and Camtronics.
- Record, monitor, and demonstrate understanding of hemodynamic measurements and valve areas.
Qualifications Required:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting employment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- A minimum of 1 year of Critical Care experience is REQUIRED (ICU, ER).
- Experience in a Cath Lab or EP Lab is highly preferred.
