\n - Full-time
\n - Shift: 3:00am - 11:00am OR 11:30pm - 8:00am

Requirements
\n - Bachelor's degree
\n - ASCP certification
\n - Prior lab experience and knowledge

Responsibilities
\n - Accurately handles and accessions cytology specimens and occasionally histology specimens
\n - Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling
\n - Correctly identifies proper media used for specimen fixation
\n - Accessions, labels and directs specimens through the histology and cytology lab
\n - Accurately enters all patient demographics, test codes and physician information from the requisition into Antrim and CoPath, the laboratory’s computer program.
\n - Discards old specimens by date received.
\n - Processes Gynecologic and Non-Gynecologic specimens onto a slide and performs staining according to procedure.
\n - Ensures quality of departmental resources and laboratory services
\n - Understands and follows all safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines.
\n - Participates in departmental safety and quality assurance programs.
\n - Utilizes appropriate supplies with minimal waste.
\n - Promotes excellent service to internal and external customers.
\n - Communicates with laboratory staff and other department staff members to ensure quality patient care.
\n - Maintains and supports a service oriented relationship with staff members.
\n - Ensures compliance with HIPAA requirements by respecting and maintaining the confidentiality of information relative to patients and clients.
\n - Strives to maintain a positive work environment and keeps work area neat and clean.
