Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in St. Petersburg, FL

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in St. Petersburg, Florida. This full-time position offers a stable, rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The COTA will work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists to support patient treatment and help individuals improve independence in daily living.\n

Responsibilities:\n

\n
• Assist OTs in implementing individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
\n
• Provide therapeutic exercises and ADL training to restore function and improve independence.
\n
• Support patients with mobility, coordination, and fine motor skill development utilizing adaptive equipment as needed.
\n
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, home programs, and adaptive strategies.
\n
• Monitor and document patient progress, communicate updates to the supervising OT, and maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including OTs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
\n
• Maintain compliance with ethical, legal, and facility policies related to patient care and documentation.
\n

Qualifications:\n

\n
• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from a CAPTE-accredited program.
\n
• Current NBCOT certification and active Florida OTA license.
\n
• CPR certification (preferred).
\n
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.
\n

Work Environment:\n

• Full-time position with consistent, predictable scheduling (40 hours per week).
\n
• Potential work settings include hospitals, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, or home health.
