Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Full Time | 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team on a full-time, fixed-term contract for one year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident HLTA who can provide high-quality classroom support and deliver whole-class teaching when required. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring consistency across the school by covering classes across all key stages and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

Working Hours

8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

The role includes supporting with either a before-school club or an after-school club as part of the working day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide class cover across all key stages as required.
\n
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and manage whole-class learning effectively.
\n
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the school by providing consistent classroom cover.
\n
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour and learning.
\n
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
\n
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
\n
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including breakfast clubs and after-school activities.
\n

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

\n
• HLTA status or significant experience working at HLTA level.
\n
• Proven experience delivering lessons to whole classes.
\n
• Strong behaviour management skills.
\n
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
\n
• Experience supporting pupils across a range of age groups and abilities.
\n
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working across different key stages.
\n
• A positive, professional and collaborative attitude.
\n

Essential Requirements

\n
• Previous experience working as an HLTA within a UK school.
\n
• Experience leading whole-class teaching and learning.
\n
• Strong knowledge of classroom practice and behaviour management.
\n
• Right to work in the UK.
\n
