5G RAN Optimisation Engineer - Network Optimisation - RAN technologies
\nMarshall Wolfe are hiring on behalf of our client, who are a leading telecoms organisation. They are seeking an experienced 5G RAN Optimisation Specialist to join a high-performing Network Performance & Optimisation team supporting a critical Public Safety Network programme.
\nThis is a specialist role focused on 5G/5G+ performance optimisation, root cause analysis, and end-to-end network investigations across complex mobile network environments. You'll work closely with internal SMEs, vendors, and stakeholders to improve network performance, customer experience, and service reliability.
\nThis is a 12 month contract, which can be based in London or Bristol
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Analyse UE logs, drive test data, Wireshark traces, OSS trends and protocol logs to identify performance issues. \n
- Perform 4G/5G/5G+ parameter and feature optimisation activities across Nokia and Ericsson networks. \n
- Conduct end-to-end investigations covering 5G SA, NSA, VoNR and network interworking scenarios. \n
- Lead root cause analysis of network degradations and define optimisation plans to improve KPIs. \n
- Validate network designs and assess performance impacts of new features and configurations. \n
- Produce performance recommendations and operational best practices. \n
- Collaborate with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver performance improvements. \n
Requirements:
\n- \n
- Extensive experience in mobile network performance and optimisation within large-scale telecommunications environments. \n
- Expert knowledge of 5G/5G+ investigations, RAN optimisation and end-to-end network troubleshooting. \n
- Strong understanding of 4G LTE, 5G SA/NSA, VoNR, Network Slicing and SIP signalling. \n
- Advanced experience with Wireshark, TEMS, Accuver, Actix, UE log analysis and protocol tracing. \n
- Proven expertise analysing radio network KPIs, parameters, timers and performance metrics. \n
- Experience working with Nokia and/or Ericsson RAN technologies. \n
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business outcomes. \n
Desirable:
\n- \n
- Experience supporting Public Safety Network services. \n
- Knowledge of SRTP/DTLS troubleshooting and optimisation. \n
- Understanding of 3GPP and ETSI standards. \n
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and vendors. \n
- Knowledge of project delivery and telecommunications best practices. \n
12 month contract Inside IR35 | London or Bristol based (hybrid working)
